Hurt by Christina Aguilera is one of My favorite songs. This was the 2nd single of her 3rd album Back to Basics, brought out in 2006. Hurt debuted on the radio the 12th of September 2006. The single was in stores the 12th of October 2006.
Christina Aguilera didn’t plan to release Hurt as second single of the album Back to Basics. She thought Candyman would be the 2nd single of the album Back to Basics. She even told that in several interviews. Her record label didn’t agree. They felt that around christmas a ballad would do better, like the single Beautifull in 2002 which was very succesfull.
On a recording session Christina Aguilera asked Linda Perry to help her to wright a song because she wanted to sing about loosing someone you love. Linda Perry just lost her father so she could relate with that. Linda Perry wrote most of the song before Christina Aguilera got a chance to take a look at the song. When she finally saw the song she felt that Linda Perry used to much personal details in the song, and decided to re-write the most part of it. Hurt is the biggest Christina Aguilera hit brought out in the Netherlands. It was her 5th single on the second place of the Dutch music charts. It was in the charts for 21 weeks.
