Doggy Sitting in Heerlen

This weekend I was doggy sitting in Heerlen. My aunt went on a weekend trip and needed some one to take care of, Her 12 year old dog, a Groenendaeler called Jinx. It’s such a sweet dog a real family dog. I went there on Friday. When we arrived a list was waiting for us. On the list was his feeding and walking schedule. Jinx is 12 years old so he sleeps a lot during the day. He loves to cuttle and he lets you know when he likes to cuttle. He puts one paw on my legs and his head on my lap. looking at me with his big brown eyes. Jinx had to be walked 3 times a day. We enjoyed those walks very much. My aunt lives in a neighborhood with a lot of bushes and fields I loved it. Jinx loves food like almost every other dog I know. But this dog was so well behaved that he only ate his treat on his blanket. He knows the rules and I could see My aunt trained Jinx well. I really fell in love with this type of dog. After 4 days I felt sorry I had to go home because Jinx is so sweet. I could just pack him in my bag and take him home with me. And I got very interested in The Groenendaeler breed. So I did some research about the Groenendaeler breed, and here is what I have found.
In the end of the last century the Belgium’s tried to breed the perfect Shepard dog. This leaded to the introduction of 4 different Shepard breeds in The Belgium Kennel Club in the year of 1897. One of those breeds was The Groenendaeler. The Belgium Groenendaeler is a working dog, which is well built, pays attention an excellent guard dog but is also well suited as a family dog.
Breed description
Head - Elongated, the muzzle is just as long as the skull or something longer, moderately broad, rather flat then round skull, The lines between nose back and face parallel, black nose and black lips.
Eyes - Medium size, Almond shaped, dark brown of color.
Ears - High incited, small, triangular and stiffly.
Teethings - Shear teethings, grip teethings are accepted.
Neck - Moderately long, powerful, slightly bowed.
Limbs - Fairly opened angle of shoulder and upper arm, straight for legs, powerful behind legs, parallel broad thigh legs, muscular, moderate angle of knee.
Feet - well closed, strong and hard foot soles.
Tail - Moderately long, hanging or slightly bended up.
Coat - long-haired, entirely black, slightly white on the breats and toes is accepted.
Hight - Stud 62 cm, Bitch 58 cm.
